HSBC the world's local bank?

I made a trip to the HSBC international banking centre at Orchard Road today to setup an international student account for my studies.

Before the trip today,
I made a separate trip to HSBC to collect the information and application package and made an appointment to meet the HSBC representative. Apparently the schedule was packed and the earliest appointment was for 1 week later.

When I opened the package, I realized the forms included only needed 5 minutes to fill in. What's worse, the meeting with the HSBC representative only lasted 15 minutes! Haha!

So why the hell did I have to work one week? Are their schedules really that packed? Are there really so many UK students setting up accounts?

At the end of the meeting, I asked the representative why did we have to wait for the appointment. She explained that it was to prevent clients from making 2 seperate trips to HSBC. WTH! I made 2 seperate trips too!

HSBC could have just posted what we need to show the HSBC representative online. We call HSBC directly to make an appointment and eveything could be settled one times jialat jialat.
